We attended a beekeeping class then promptly bought 8 hives, increasing to 11 hives by the end of our first year. Several years later, we now have over 300 hives and continue to grow annually.... guess you could say "we got bitten by the bug". During that time we have established a nice selection of handmade products for our customers to enjoy, which have won blue ribbons at the State Fair. We take great pride in the quality of our products and the work we do.
Our raw (unpasteurized) honey consists of clover, prairie wildflowers, basswood and aster (lighter tasting than clover with an amber rose color), we also have a selection of creamed honey, skin products, insect repellents and 100% pure beeswax candles.
We participate in USDA and state surveys annually, to ensure our colonies are healthy and assist in bee research.
We are members of American Beekeepers Federation (ABF), American Honey Producers Association (AHPA), True Source Honey Certified, Minnesota Grown, Minnesota Honey Producers, The Xerces Society, Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetics Guild.
Before relocating to Minnesota, we were active members of the Iowa Honey Producers Association - Education & Bid Committees, Vice President and Honey Booth Manager at the Iowa State Fair and Iowa Food Coop board member.
